🍳 Let’s Talk About “Chef” Mary 🍰 The upcoming (Friday, January 16th - Sunday, January 18th) Women's Restorative Winter Retreat has a VERY talented guest 'chef' that everyone asks about again and again. It's Mary. Mary spent many years cooking and serving at the Merrimac Café, when it was owned by her mother, Dolores. Beyond the café, Mary also spent countless years exchanging recipes with her late best friend, Monica, who collected and perfected ✨quintessential Midwest dishes✨ while cooking for her family of farmers. Those shared recipes are still very much alive in Mary’s cooking today. Her meals are cozy, comforting, and celebratory — never simple, always thoughtful. From sweet, decadent French toast bakes to savory and healthy frittatas filled with sautéed fresh vegetables, every dish feels intentional and made with care. Mary has spent her entire life cooking for others. It’s how she shows love! She pickles and cans all summer, tends a vegetable garden with her grandkids, and turns neighbor-shared bushels of produce into something nourishing to give back. ✨ Mary will be cooking and serving Saturday morning breakfast, and truly — it’s worth coming to the retreat just for that.
